The Sorell Foundation co-founder and design education pioneer Lady Frances Sorrell asked us to create the special commission showcase exhibit at this year's National Saturday Club Summer Show.
Our work formed one of the largest exhibits at Somerset House this year and provided the entrance to a rather special exhibition which showcased the outstanding work the National Saturday Clubs students and tutors have created.
It was a big task, scaling scaffolding and spending a significant time at the top of large ladders this was a project and a half.
When completed the large scale installation swathed its folds around walls, staircases and the Embankment Gallery to envelop visitors as they entered the show.
Now in its seventh year the show celebrates the work of the 13-16 year olds who have taken part in the National Saturday Club's movement to inspire and nurture creativity in young artists.
Earlier this year we had the pleasure of giving a design masterclass at the Chelsea College of Arts as part of the National Saturday Club and were hugely impressed by the pieces the talented students created.
Our students work was showcased at the event alongside pieces from all the club members and we were so proud to see their work and hear such great endorsements of their creations from visitors
We were two very proud tutors indeed.
