‘7 Rings of Quests’ was commissioned by GF Smith for the launch of Future Icon Selects at the Bargehouse, London. The work emerged from our QEST Scholarship journey and the discipline of learning from an origami master, where a single fold becomes both structure and philosophy. The challenge was to expand this intimate language into a spatial experience that could be felt rather than read.

A master fold was reimagined as seven suspended rings, forming a hovering constellation above the gallery floor. Made entirely from GF Smith papers, the installation reveals shifts in colour, weight, and surface as light and movement pass through it. Visitors walked beneath and around the rings, their changing viewpoints activating alignments and shadows. The title speaks to learning, myth, and curiosity — inviting each viewer into their own quiet quest for new materials, makers, and possibilities.
