Confluence explores tension — how collective movement is momentarily suspended — for the reimagined reception at 5 New Street Square. The 12m x 6m x 4m installation answers the atrium's architecture and the City's flow beyond its doors. Rising 8.9 metres, this bespoke, origami artwork's 14,000+ elements, each hand-folded by us, swirl into a large-scale form that appears to hover in stillness, every facet catching the light. Installed above the circulation space, the piece invites a quiet, mindful, immersive pause between arrival and departure.

Interior designer Basha-Franklin approached us to propose a lobby sculpture to a set budget. Sketch proposals became a concept for client sign-off, then an intense prototyping phase - paper moquette and CAD refining each other. The full-size aluminium arcs, formed by a blacksmith using a custom-built jig, tested the form's structure and space, fixing where cables and mounts should run without dominating the piece. That fed a dimensioned CAD model, coordinated with the design team around services and sprinklers, then a full-size three-arc mock-up validated fixing, cabling and install. Completed on time and within budget.
